The Company

Renowned for its scale, strong governance, and member-centric values, the organization is looking to strengthen its Risk & Compliance function by appointing a Senior Regulatory Breach Specialist.
The Role
This is a high-visibility position within the fund's Risk & Compliance group, focusing on end-to-end incident management, breach significance evaluations, and regulatory alignment. Acting as a trusted technical SME, you will lead complex investigations into operational and compliance events, ensure seamless reporting to industry regulators, and coach emerging compliance talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee root-cause analysis for high-priority operational and regulatory incidents, ensuring findings are fully defensible and well-documented.
- Evaluate breach significance against key superannuation and financial services regimes, applying rigorous multi-regime assessment methodologies.
- Monitor emerging legislative reforms, regulatory guidance, and prudential expectations, translating updates into insights for the fund.
- Refine internal incident response workflows, reporting frameworks,
and compliance policies to eliminate operational bottlenecks and mitigate risk.
- Draft executive briefings, board committee papers, and formal regulatory notifications tailored for bodies such as ASIC and APRA.
- Coach, mentor, and build technical capability across the broader compliance team in legal analysis, evidence gathering, and report drafting.
Your Experience
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Law or a related legal/regulatory discipline.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulation, superannuation law, and relevant prudential standards.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional critical-thinking skills with record of dissecting complex incidents in a high-volume environment.
- Communication: Outstanding written communication skills with direct experience preparing high-impact executive reports and regulatory submissions.
- Stakeholder Agility: Ability to partner effectively across diverse business units, managing competing priorities with confidence.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience within a superannuation fund, wealth manager, or regulatory body.
- Hands-on familiarity with enterprise GRC systems.
