Abaxa is looking for experienced Subsurface Utility Locators who take pride in accurate work, put safety first and want to build a long-term career with a professional field team.
You’ll work across a variety of metro and regional infrastructure projects, using EM and GPR technology to locate and map underground services and help protect people, infrastructure and our customers’ projects.

What You’ll Do
- Locate underground utilities using EM and GPR equipment
- Interpret utility plans and service records
- Mark, map and document underground infrastructure accurately
- Work directly with customers and project teams in the field
- Complete clear reports, sketches and digital records
- Maintain and care for locating equipment
- Work safely around critical underground infrastructure
- Take ownership of your jobs from start to finish
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have:
- 2+ years’ utility locating or similar field experience
- Certloc Locator qualification or willingness to obtain
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Construction White Card
- Strong safety focus
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A reliable, positive and team-focused attitude
Highly regarded:
- GPR experience
- First Aid & CPR
- Western Power, ATCO or APA certifications
- Confined Space and Gas Atmosphere training
