Position summary

The Technical Business Development – Process Equipment (APAC Region) is responsible for driving the growth of PM Group's process equipment business across Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role combines deep technical expertise with commercial leadership to identify opportunities, develop strategic customer relationships, and position PM Group as the preferred partner for engineered process equipment solutions.

Working closely with engineering, operations and regional leadership, the role will engage with major EPC contractors, operators and technology providers throughout the project lifecycle—from early concept and FEED through to project execution—to secure new business opportunities and support sustainable regional growth.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical credibility, commercial acumen and the ability to build trusted relationships with key decision makers across the energy, resources and industrial sectors.

About the role

Strategic Business Development

· Develop and execute business development strategies to grow PM Group's process equipment business throughout the APAC region.

· Identify, qualify and pursue strategic opportunities with major EPC contractors, operators and industrial clients.

· Build and maintain a robust pipeline of projects aligned with the Company's strategic objectives.

· Support regional growth initiatives by identifying new markets,



customers and partnership opportunities.

Technical & Commercial Leadership

· Provide technical leadership and support for process equipment opportunities, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements and industry best practice.

· Align technical solutions with commercial objectives to maximise customer value and project success.

· Support preparation of technical proposals, budget pricing, presentations and customer submissions.

· Work closely with engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust, commercially competitive and aligned with customer expectations.

Prospect & Pipeline Management

· Develop and maintain a comprehensive project database of key opportunities, target projects and strategic accounts across the APAC region.

· Monitor major capital projects from early planning through execution to maximise engagement opportunities.

· Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reporting on pipeline development and business performance.

· Coordinate opportunity strategies with regional and global leadership teams.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

· Identify commercial, technical and project delivery risks associated with opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

· Work collaboratively across engineering, commercial and project teams to resolve technical and commercial challenges.

· Balance customer requirements with business objectives while maintaining strong commercial discipline.

· Proactively identify issues that may impact project success and develop practical, customer-focused solutions.

Internal Collaboration

· Work closely with engineering,



procurement and project delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from business development through project execution.

· Support knowledge sharing across regional offices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

· Collaborate with global PM Group teams to leverage technical expertise and international project experience.

About the candidate

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).

· Minimum 10 years' experience within the oil & gas, energy, mining or process industries.

· Demonstrated experience in technical sales, business development, applications engineering or engineering leadership involving process equipment.

· Strong understanding of EPC project delivery and procurement processes.

· Established relationships within major EPC contractors and owner/operator organisations across Australia or the APAC region would be highly regarded.

· Experience working with process equipment packages and engineered solutions is preferred.

Technical Competencies

· Strong understanding of process equipment and packaged systems used within the energy, resources and industrial sectors.

· Robust knowledge of compressors (API 617/618/619), pumps (API 610/674/675/676), auxiliary systems, and package integration.

· Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to both technical and commercial stakeholders.

· Sound knowledge of engineering standards, specifications and project execution methodologies.

· Robust commercial awareness with experience developing technical proposals and managing opportunity pipelines.
