The opportunity

You will lead the daily operation of an established long day care service for almost 100 children aged from six weeks to six years.

The head-office team provides support with recruitment, enrolment administration, rostering and family communications, reducing much of the administrative pressure that can consume a service leader’s week. An experienced Area Manager is also available to provide practical advice and coaching when needed.

This is not the kind of typical leadership role where every operational and administrative task lands on one desk. With substantial support available from head office, the position is structured around leading the service as Nominated Supervisor rather than carrying the full administrative burden often attached to a traditional Centre Director role.

What you will do





- Lead daily operations and establish clear team expectations.

- Coach educators and address performance concerns promptly.

- Maintain oversight of ratios, compliance and child safety.

- Lead continuous improvement and Assessment and Rating preparation.

- Build trusted relationships with children and families.

- Conduct service tours and support new enrolments.

- Work closely with the Area Manager and head office.

- Recognise good work and strengthen team consistency.

What we are looking for

This is an experienced leadership appointment. You will need at least three years of senior leadership experience in a comparable long day care setting.

You will also require:

- An ACECQA-approved Diploma-level qualification or higher.

- Eligibility to become a Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person.

- Current approved first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training.

- Current child protection training and Working with Children Check.

- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework.

- Sound understanding of ratios and service compliance.

- Confidence in addressing performance and conduct concerns.

- A steady and consistent approach to team leadership.

Experience as an Educational Leader, or leading quality improvement, Assessment and Rating preparation, would be highly regarded.
