The roles will initially be two days per week with the opportunity to increase the number of days as the operations of the Hub grow.
About Us
The Queensland Indigenous Business Network (QIBN) is a state representative body for Indigenous businesses in Queensland. We seek to advance the economic development and growth of Indigenous businesses by:
- providing a range of business support services that will assist members to grow and mature;
- facilitating linkages and connections with government and the corporate sector, especially around procurement; and
- promoting Indigenous businesses on a state, national and global level.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to build a meaningful Indigenous hub from the ground up. The QIBN Indigenous Business Hub Coordinator will serve as the central point of contact and operational leader for the hub, ensuring seamless coordination and productive functioning of activities and services. This individual will oversee operations, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and support the hub's strategic goals by implementing programs, managing resources, and fostering collaboration aligned with QIBN’s Strategic and Operational Plans.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the QIBN Chief Executive Officer, with guidance from the Indigenous Business Hub Advisory Committee, you will be responsible for:
- Membership Drive - Increase QIBN Membership in the region
- Operations Management – Oversee hub functions, programs and events that support QIBN members.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with industry, government,
and community partners to create local place-based opportunities for verified Indigenous businesses.
- Program Delivery – Coordinate workshops, mentoring, and business support activities aligned to local needs.
- Resource and Reporting – Support budget allocation, resources, and data reporting through QIBN internal systems and processes to track outcomes and compliance.
- Leadership – Embed QIBN’s values in all hub operations, ensuring relationships with Traditional Owners and local cultural protocols are upheld.
- Secretariat Support – Provide administration support to Indigenous Business Hub Advisory Committee
Skills & Experience
- Qualifications in business administration, office management, community development or a related field (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in business administration, operations, and community engagement and development.
- Demonstrated capability working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently maintain activity in building new projects, processes, or solutions from the ground up.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Competence in Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and general technology use — or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn new digital tools and platforms.
- Proven ability to work remotely in an independent and collaborative manner.
