Head Chefs & Executive Chef | Sydney CBD | $95K-$145K + Super

JRM Hospitality has partnered with several high-profile hospitality operators to recruit an exciting collection of Head Chef and Executive Chef opportunities across Sydney CBD and the surrounding inner city.

With several significant new restaurant openings on the horizon, we're looking to connect with talented culinary leaders who want to work with strong hospitality brands, lead great teams and put their cooking skills firmly at the centre of what they do.

The opportunities range from contemporary Japanese and highly creative fine dining through to premium French and Italian restaurants and a senior multi-venue Executive Chef position. Salaries range from $95K to $145K + super, depending on the position and experience.

Whether you're an ambitious chef ready to take the next step into a Head Chef position, an established Head Chef looking to build your profile, or an experienced Executive Chef seeking a more hands-on group role, there are some genuinely exciting projects coming to Sydney.

The Opportunities

* Japanese Head Chef - Lead a contemporary Japanese kitchen with a strong focus on grill cooking, quality produce and energetic service. We're particularly interested in chefs with genuine Japanese cooking knowledge and strong grill experience. $95K-$100K + super.

* Fine Dining Head Chef - Lead an intimate, highly creative tasting-menu restaurant where technical cooking, precision and innovation are at the heart of the food. You'll lead a small brigade of around five chefs, delivering an ambitious multi-course experience for up to 100 guests. Previous experience within hatted, Michelin-starred or comparable fine dining restaurants will be highly regarded. $100K-$110K + super.





* French Head Chef - Take the lead on an upcoming premium French bistro opening for a multi hatted restaurant group, delivering recognisable French classics with a contemporary edge. A great opportunity for a chef with strong classical foundations and experience in quality, chef-led restaurants. $120K-$140K + super.

* Italian Head Chef - Lead a sizeable new Italian restaurant focused on handmade pasta, premium steaks, seafood and produce-driven cooking. This is a responsible kitchen operation with a brigade of around 20 chefs, requiring an experienced leader comfortable delivering at a refined restaurant level. $120K-$140K + super.

* Group Executive Chef - A hands-on culinary leadership position overseeing a growing collection of established and upcoming restaurants. The portfolio spans Italian, steakhouse and European-influenced dining, with further openings ahead. We're looking for someone equally comfortable developing teams, supporting Head Chefs and jumping onto the pans or grill when required. Up to $145K + super.

About You

* An accomplished Head Chef, Executive Chef or exceptional Senior Sous Chef ready for greater responsibility.
* Previous experience in a closely comparable restaurant environment is essential - these positions require chefs who understand the standards, pace and expectations of the kitchens they will be leading.
* Strong restaurant cooking credentials with genuine technical ability - these are roles for chefs who still love to cook.
* Experience within Japanese, fine dining, Italian, French,



steak or fire-led kitchens will be particularly relevant.
* Hatted, Michelin-starred or similarly recognised restaurant experience will be highly regarded for the fine dining opportunities.
* Confident leading, mentoring and developing kitchen brigades, from small specialist teams through to large-scale operations.
* Strong understanding of food cost, labour, purchasing and kitchen financials.
* Able to build positive kitchen cultures while maintaining accountability and high standards.
* Passionate about produce, seasonality, technique and delivering food consistently at a high level.
* Full Australian working rights are essential. Sponsorship is not available and candidates requiring visa sponsorship cannot be considered for these opportunities.
