St Anne’s Anglican Church Strathfield is looking for a godly, relational and mission-mindedAssistant Minister to support the Rector in the mission of our church to the Young Adults of our parish and lead the membership ministry of our church.
St Anne’s is an exciting multicultural church in the vibrant outer inner west, we are exploring how to leverage our history to reach and disciple the nations for Jesus. This position would suit anyone who is culturally sensitive and willing to explore how to bring the historic gospel into a new missional context.
ROLE
- Gather the young adults of our church and grow a ministry that disciples them towards maturity in Jesus and engages them in His mission
- Establishing a hospitality culture
- Establishing a small group network
- Seek and mentor leaders from among the Young Adults who will share in this ministry and other ministries of our church
- Support the Rector to plant and pastor a new congregation to reach the young adults of our area (particularly immigrant workers 20-35yrs in the outer inner west)
Membership Ministry
- Grow and Direct the Membership Ministry of our church by establishing and growing teams who will joyfully welcome,
engage and see newcomers be engaged as disciples in our church
- Work with the Rector in the strategic planning and growing of our Membership Pathway
- Establish and develop healthy membership ministry teams
- Seek and mentor leaders of these membership ministry teams
Preaching & Pastoral Care:
- To support the Rector in the proclamation of God’s word and play a key part in the preaching program of our church:
- To support the Rector in the pastoral care of the members of St Anne’s playing a part in the baptism, wedding and funeral ministry of our church when required.
Skills & Capabilities
- Demonstrated passion, skills & experience leading young adults in mission and discipling young people (or relevant similar experience)
- A desire to reach the nations in our area for Christ
- A devotion to prayer
- An ability to teach
- Theologically trained
- WWCC and Secure Ministry training
- Also a definite advantage
- Ordained (or willing to be ordained) in the Sydney diocese
- Cross-cultural ministry experience
Remmuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with the diocesan guidelines published on the SAS website.
Commencement
This role is to commence from early 2027
