Nationwide Corporate Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Port Melbourne . This full-time position offers excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression within a growing and dynamic organisation.
Due to the operational nature of our business—including 24/7 customer accounts, car park operations, security services and other around-the-clock service requirements —the successful applicant must be flexible and willing to work a rotating roster. This may include day, afternoon and evening shifts, as well as occasional weekend or public holiday work , where reasonably required.
The successful applicant will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational and strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

This may include day, afternoon and evening shifts, as well as occasional weekend or public holiday work , where reasonably required.
The successful applicant will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational and strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain and review financial records, including journals, ledgers, accounts payable,
accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements, operational reports and management reports in accordance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
- Complete account reconciliations and undertake detailed financial analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances and provide clear insights to management.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing supporting documentation.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax agents, clients and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy and financial control.
- Work closely with operational teams supporting security, car park and 24/7 customer accounts.
- Assist with invoicing, payroll and financial enquiries arising outside standard business hours when reasonably required.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
About You
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply relevant accounting standards.
- Previous experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- A flexible and reliable approach to working hours, including shift work, weekends and public holidays when required.
- Experience supporting a 24/7 operational, security, facilities management or car park business will be highly regarded.
- Full Australian working rights or eligibility for employer-sponsored employment.
