Tresillian is currently recruiting for a dynamic Mental Health Clinician to join the Tresillian team at Tresillian Nepean.

The Mental Health Clinician provides specialist, culturally responsive, comprehensive and holistic perinatal,infantand early childhood mental health assessment, formulation, therapeutic intervention and risk management for parents, infants, youngchildrenand families accessing Tresillian services. Working within an attachment-based, trauma-informed,recovery-oriented,neuroaffirmingand family-centred model of care, the clinician strengthens parent–infant and parent–child relationships, promotes infant social and emotional development, and supports family mental health and wellbeing.

Therole requires advanced clinical skills in assessing and responding to parental mental health concerns, emotional distress, psychosocial complexity, family violence, child protection concerns and risks to parents,infantsand young children.The clinician undertakes comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, develops cooperative safetyplansand delivers evidence-informed interventions through individual, dyadic, family and group-based approaches.

Working within the Parent, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (PIEC-MH) Service, the clinician provides multidisciplinary consultation, coordinated care, clinicaleducationand service development, contributing to continuous quality improvement and innovation while collaborating closely with nursing staff and the broader multidisciplinary team.

Our Model of Care

Tresillian's Parent, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Service works from an attachment-based, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and family-centred model of care. We value reflective practice, multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-informed interventions that strengthen parent–infant relationships and support parental and child mental health.

Selection Criteria – Applicants must address the Selection Criteria

Criteria 1

Qualifications in accordance with relevant award conditions and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA):

- Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists: registration with AHPRA; for clinical psychologists: an endorsement in the practice area of Clinical Psychology, or enrolment in an approved registrar program working towards endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Social Worker: eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and eligible for Mental Health Accreditation.
- Occupational Therapist: Registration with AHPRA.
- Registered Nurse: Registration with AHPRA, additional postgraduate qualification in mental health or substantial clinical experience in perinatal and infant mental health.

Criteria 2

Demonstrated clinical experience in perinatal, infant, child, youth and/or adult mental health, with demonstrated experience or a strong commitment to developing expertise in parent–infant and early childhood mental health. Including:

Assessment and management of perinatal mental health concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, emotional distress and adjustment to parenthood.

Delivery of evidence-informed individual, dyadic, family and group therapeutic interventions.

Attachment-based and relationship-focused practice with parent–infant and parent–child dyads.

Infant and early childhood mental health assessment and management.

Criteria 3

Demonstrated ability to practise autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced clinical reasoning, sound professional judgement and culturally safe, reflective practice when managing complex presentations.

Criteria 4

Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise competing clinical demands while maintaining accurate clinical records, professional correspondence and proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Teams,Outlookand electronic client information systems.

Criteria 5

Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice, clinical supervision,



lifelong learning and positive collaborative relationships.

Criteria 6

Demonstrated knowledge of local health, mental health and community services, and experience coordinating care and navigating referral pathways within multidisciplinary and interagency networks tofacilitatetimelyaccess to appropriate treatment and ongoing support for parents, infants, youngchildrenand families
