About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate – Companion Animal, Equine & Exports to join Abbey Animal Health Pty Ltd on a full-time, maternity cover basis . This role is based in Norwest, NSW 2153 and offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact within our regulatory affairs team.

Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs leadership, you will take responsibility for managing regulatory compliance, submissions, and strategic initiatives across our companion animal, equine, and export product portfolios. This is a pivotal position that ensures Abbey Animal Health maintains its reputation for regulatory excellence whilst navigating the complex landscape of veterinary pharmaceutical regulation in Australia and key export markets. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product development, quality assurance, sales, and customer support to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.

Key responsibilities

- Manage regulatory submissions and correspondence with regulatory bodies including the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and relevant international regulatory authorities
- Develop,



implement, and maintain regulatory strategies for companion animal, equine, and export product registrations
- Prepare and submit comprehensive regulatory documentation, including product dossiers, variation applications, and compliance reports
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, and guidelines relevant to veterinary medicines and ensure organisational compliance
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure product information, labelling, and promotional materials comply with regulatory requirements
- Conduct regulatory gap analyses and provide recommendations for maintaining compliance across product portfolios
- Support product launch activities by coordinating regulatory approvals and ensuring timely market entry
- Maintain detailed regulatory files and ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with legislative requirements
- Represent the company in meetings and communications with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders
- Provide regulatory advice and guidance to cross-functional teams on compliance matters
- Contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory affairs processes and systems

What we're looking for

- Tertiary qualification in pharmacy, science, veterinary science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in regulatory affairs, specifically within the veterinary pharmaceutical industry




- Proven experience with APVMA submissions and understanding of Australian veterinary medicine regulations
- Knowledge of companion animal, equine, and/or export veterinary product categories
- Strong understanding of international regulatory frameworks for export markets, particularly key trading partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise regulatory documentation
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet regulatory deadlines
- Proficiency in regulatory management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all regulatory submissions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Professional demeanour and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in quality assurance, product development, or veterinary medicine is advantageous
