Your role at St John of God Frankston Hospital
We are seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join Granada Ward, a specialised inpatient rehabilitation and palliative care unit, where you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients recovering from illness, surgery, and life‑limiting conditions. Our diverse caseload includes post‑orthopaedic rehabilitation (hip, knee, and shoulder replacements), neurological recovery following stroke, reconditioning after cardiac and respiratory illness, post‑cancer treatment care, pain management, and end‑of‑life support.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing practice of all nursing caregivers taking responsibility for standard of nursing care delivered.
- Initiates reviews and coordinates care of patients with complex health problems.
- Serves as a patient advocate, protecting the rights and safety of patients at all times.
- Actively contributes to the development of clinical policies and procedures in area of specialty.
- Responsible and accountable for nominated portfolios as designated by Nurse Manager and actively communicates with Nurse Manager updates.
- Participates in and takes responsibility for the education of other caregivers by conducting formal and informal teaching sessions.
- Routinely monitors the results of diagnostic procedures and investigations and reports abnormalities as required to the required caregiver.
- Systematically evaluates and documents the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions and reports significant anomalies promptly.
- Ensures documentation of planned nursing care and holistic care plan remains current and regularly evaluates documentation of the multidisciplinary team to determine their compliance with hospital policy.
- Cooperates with the Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership, coordinate daily ward operations, support staff development, and promote evidence‑based practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum five (5) years postgraduate experience in an acute clinical setting.
- Practical experience and knowledge of research methodology and evidence‑based nursing practice.
- Ability to organise and motivate staff.
- Commitment to supporting and upholding the mission and values of St John of God Health Care.
- Required to be vaccinated against influenza.
Advantages
- Salary $120,835 to $124,903 per annum (pro‑rate basis for part‑time).
- 12% superannuation.
- Permanent part‑time role, working up to 56 hours a fortnight.
