Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day service delivery and patient flow across the Shoalhaven Hospital Group.
- Communicate and coordinate the nursing team and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, safe and efficient patient assessment and treatment.
- Act as an expert clinical and operational resource for the nursing team, providing leadership, supervision, support and guidance to nursing staff related to clinical care and the patient journey.
- Recognise and respond to emerging issues, including identifying the need for and initiating appropriate service escalation processes.
- Oversee designated management portfolios within the team and contribute to professional development of staff and ongoing monitoring, evaluation and enhancement of unit services.
- Provide operational and professional support to the Nursing team to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care and continuous service improvement.

Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is the main referral hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services.
The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Children’s Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a regional Cancer Care Centre. The hospital is undergoing redevelopment to expand facilities and career development opportunities.
