Brightside Recruitment is currently working with a newly established organisation that represents, supports and advocates for community across a range of functions. Established through a landmark process, this newly formed body is standing up its governance, systems and operations for the first time – meaning this is a genuine ground-floor opportunity rather than stepping into someone else's structure.
The organisation is guided by Cultural Authority and Community accountability rather than KPI-driven targets, and has a strong internal support function around governance, policy and administration so the right person can focus on leadership, not paperwork.

Role;
/n
We are currently looking to fill the Chief Executive Officer role for this organisation. This is a senior executive position leading a multi-arm organisation through its establishment phase, working across the full life of the organisation – engaging with adults, young people and the broader community it serves.
/n
Your main functions will include;
/n
/n
- Provide executive leadership across all functions of the organisation, translating the aspirations of elected/representative members into well-governed, well-run delivery, while protecting the organisation's independence and cultural legitimacy.
/n
- Lead from, and be accountable to, First Peoples' ways of being, knowing and doing – working confidently under Cultural Authority and creating culturally secure,
culturally legitimate workplaces and engagement.
/n
- Steward finances, systems and people through a period of significant growth and establishment, designing scalable structures that reflect self-determination principles and long‐term sustainability.

- Build and maintain high‐trust relationships with Community, Traditional Owner groups, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, government and other key institutions – including in contested or high‐scrutiny settings.

Requirements;
/n
We are looking for candidates that have;
/n
/n
- Demonstrated executive leadership experience in complex, multi-part organisations, ideally within representative, statutory, for‐purpose or public sector bodies.
/n
- Proven ability to set up and run strong statutory and cultural governance, including financial stewardship, risk and compliance, in a high‐scrutiny environment.
/n
- Experience working effectively with elected or representative decision‐makers, maintaining clear boundaries between governance and executive delivery.
/n
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
