re you an organised and customer-focused administrator looking to support positive patient outcomes? As administration support in planned surgery, you will provide administrative support to the Planned Surgery Team, coordinate patient appointments, and assist patients through their elective surgery journey.

This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer service, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality and efficient healthcare services.

What You'll Be Doing

The Planned Surgery Administration Officer supports the efficient delivery of Planned Surgery Unit and Theatre services, providing high-quality administrative support and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Customer Service & Communication: Provide a welcoming, professional, and responsive point of contact for patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring exceptional customer service, effective communication, and the highest standards of confidentiality.

Administration & Documentation: Support the efficient operation of the Planned Surgery Unit and Theatre Services through patient administration, waitlisting, theatre bookings, appointment coordination, admissions and discharge processes, records management, and general clerical support.

Technical Skills: Utilise hospital information systems and Microsoft Office applications to accurately manage patient information, correspondence, reporting requirements, and administrative processes.

Operational Support: Assist with the ordering and management of supplies for the Planned Surgery Unit, contributing to a safe, organised, and well-maintained working environment.

Teamwork & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support service delivery, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and assist with orientation and on-the-job training as required.

What You Bring

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to accurately enter, maintain, and manage data across a range of computer systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, coordinate appointments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.




- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a busy and agile team environment, contributing positively to team goals and service delivery.
- A strong commitment to customer-centred service, with the ability to respond to patient enquiries in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, staff, and members of the public.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of professionalism and service.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry, appointment scheduling, documentation, and patient information management.
- Previous experience in the health industry is desirable, with knowledge of healthcare administration processes and patient-focused service delivery considered an advantage.
