Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

Position: Full time, permanent

Our client Nandal Pty Ltd operates a diversified group of businesses across landscaping, gardening, turf supply, artificial turf installation, earthworks, firewood and related outdoor property services throughout the Perth metropolitan area. The business operates and maintains a range of vehicles, mobile plant, machinery and equipment required to support its day-to-day operations, including company utes, trailers, small trucks, forklifts, loaders, Bobcats, excavators and landscaping equipment.

Due to the nature and scale of its operations, Nandal Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to undertake the servicing, inspection, diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance of the company's in-house fleet and mechanical equipment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the operational reliability and safety of the company's vehicles, plant and equipment, reducing avoidable downtime and ensuring machinery is available for landscaping, turf supply, earthworks, delivery and installation activities.

Minimum Requirements

-Certificate III/ IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive Technology or a related automotive/mechanical qualification, or equivalent relevant trade qualification.

-Relevant experience servicing and repairing motor vehicles, mobile plant, machinery and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

-Inspect, service,



maintain and repair the company's fleet of utes, small trucks, trailers and other company vehicles.

-Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults in petrol and diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, cooling systems and other mechanical components.

-Carry out servicing and repairs on company stationery engines, including two-stroke and four-stroke engines used in landscaping and related operations.

-Service, inspect and repair forklifts and associated mechanical systems to maintain safe and reliable operation.

-Undertake preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on loaders, Bobcats, excavators and other mobile plant used by the business.

-Conduct regular mechanical inspections of vehicles, machinery and equipment to identify wear, faults and potential safety issues before breakdowns occur.

-Perform engine servicing, oil and filter changes, lubrication, belt and hose replacement, brake servicing and other scheduled maintenance activities.

-Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate testing, inspection and diagnostic equipment and determine the most effective repair method.

-Inspect trailers and their mechanical components, including braking, suspension, wheel and coupling systems, and arrange necessary repairs.

-Maintain accurate service and repair records for vehicles,



machinery and equipment, including details of inspections, parts replaced and maintenance undertaken.

-Inspect newly acquired or returned equipment and vehicles to identify mechanical issues and determine servicing requirements.

-Ensure all mechanical work is undertaken in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant manufacturer specifications.

-Assist with the safe preparation of vehicles and machinery for operational use across the company's landscaping, turf, earthworks and delivery activities.

-Respond to urgent mechanical breakdowns and prioritise repairs according to operational requirements.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should have:

-Demonstrated experience in motor vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs.

-Experience working with a combination of light vehicles, small trucks, trailers and mobile plant.

-Experience with petrol and diesel engines, including two-stroke and four-stroke equipment.

-Experience servicing or repairing forklifts, loaders, Bobcats, excavators or similar earthmoving equipment will be highly regarded.

-A robust commitment to workplace health and safety and safe mechanical work practices.
