Henry's Fabrication is a growing Western Australian fabrication business based in Yanchep. We provide custom metal fabrication, earthmoving equipment repairs, mobile welding and steel and aluminium fabrication for commercial, civil, construction, agricultural and industrial clients.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Drafter to take responsibility for producing accurate, manufacture-ready drawings and supporting jobs from initial concept through to workshop completion.
This is a practical, hands-on role working closely with the Managing Director, office team and workshop tradespeople. You'll have the opportunity to work on a varied range of custom fabrication, earthmoving equipment, steel and aluminium products and one-off projects.
Full-time is preferred; however, part-time or school-hours arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate fabrication and mechanical drawings for workshop manufacture
- Develop drawings from site measurements, sketches,
existing components and client requirements
- Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Prepare material take-offs and assist with estimating and quoting
- Source pricing and procure materials for approved jobs
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
- Prepare job packs and documentation for workshop production
- Assist with job scheduling and production planning
- Work directly with tradespeople to resolve drawing and fabrication queries
- Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation
- Coordinate jobs from initial scope through drafting, procurement, fabrication and completion
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of their work.
You will ideally have:
- Strong SolidWorks 3D modelling and drafting skills
- Experience designing mechanical and fabricated components and assemblies through to manufacture
- The ability to produce accurate, manufacture-ready fabrication drawings
- Experience designing from customer requirements, sketches, measurements and existing components
- A good understanding of steel and aluminium fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Experience with material take-offs and estimating,
highly regarded
- Procurement and project coordination experience, desirable
- A fabrication, mechanical engineering or manufacturing background, preferred
- A current driver's licence
- Australian working rights
You will be comfortable thinking through practical design and fabrication problems, communicating with workshop tradespeople, suppliers and customers, and managing multiple jobs and priorities.

- ProNest - CNC plasma cutting/nesting software
- Microsoft Office applications
