Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Application Packaging & Desktop Modernisation

- 12-month contract with extension potential
- Must hold an existing NV1 security clearance
- Locations: ACT (interstate candidates willing to attend Canberra office at least 2 days a month will be considered)

Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers to support application packaging and Windows 11 desktop modernisation initiatives. The successful candidates will work across modern endpoint management, application packaging, Windows 11 SOE, Intune, Autopilot, and hybrid-to-cloud device transformation, while collaborating with project teams, infrastructure, cyber security and external vendors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Package, test, deploy and lifecycle-manage applications using Microsoft Intune, Win32 and MSIX.
- Configure and administer Microsoft Intune device management, endpoint configuration and compliance policies.
- Support Windows 11 hybrid and cloud-joined devices and contribute to the transition towards Entra-joined Windows 11 SOE environments.
- Review and enhance SCCM/MECM operating system deployment task sequences and Windows Autopilot processes.
- Develop and support Windows Autopilot automation and device provisioning.
- Troubleshoot application authentication and endpoint configuration issues.
- Implement and support endpoint security, application control, compliance and desktop hardening requirements, including technologies such as AirLock and WDAC.
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate deployment, configuration and operational support activities.
- Provide Level 3 technical support for SOE, application packaging and endpoint management services.
- Prepare knowledge base articles, technical instructions, support procedures and implementation guides.
- Develop and maintain design,



architecture and as-built configuration documentation.
- Support release, change and incident management activities associated with application deployments.
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure, cyber security, project teams, business stakeholders and service providers.
- Support the transition from traditional endpoint management towards modern cloud-based Windows management.

Mandatory Requirements:

1. Extensive experience with Win32 and MSIX application packaging, updating and deployment using Microsoft Intune, particularly across Windows 11 environments.
2. Demonstrated experience configuring, managing, supporting and troubleshooting Intune for hybrid and cloud-joined Windows 11 devices.
3. Strong experience with Microsoft endpoint services across cloud and hybrid environments, including Windows Desktop SOE, Intune, SCCM/MECM, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP and Always-On VPN.
4. Strong technical writing skills, including the preparation of knowledge base articles, technical instructions, support procedures and implementation documentation.
5. Demonstrated experience developing design, architecture and as-built configuration documentation.
6. Strong experience with Intune Endpoint Manager, Autopilot, application deployment and endpoint compliance.
7. Experience with PowerShell scripting for deployment, configuration and operational support.

Desirable Experience:

1. Experience configuring and managing supervised Apple iOS devices through Intune, including mobile application deployment.
2.



Experience transitioning from traditional SCCM-dependent environments to modern endpoint management and full Windows Autopilot deployments.
3. Experience supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, particularly Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
4. Experience with application control technologies such as AirLock and WDAC.
