Head of Secondary School - Orange, NSW 2800

Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operation of a Years 7-12 secondary school while remaining connected to classroom practice through a 0.5 teaching load. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will influence academic performance, student wellbeing, staff development and whole-school improvement initiatives.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Deputy Principal, you will lead approximately 25 staff across the Secondary School. This position combines executive leadership with direct teaching responsibilities, providing the opportunity to shape curriculum delivery, pastoral care programs and operational outcomes while maintaining a robust connection to students and learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead curriculum, teaching and learning, and NESA compliance across Years 7-12

- Oversee student wellbeing, pastoral care, engagement and discipline frameworks

- Coach and develop KLA Coordinators and teaching staff

- Analyse NAPLAN, ROSA and HSC data to inform improvement strategies

- Contribute to strategic planning and school operations as an executive leader

- Build effective relationships with students, families and the wider community

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience in secondary school leadership





- Strong knowledge of NESA, ROSA and HSC requirements

- Demonstrated ability to lead staff, curriculum and student wellbeing programs

- Experience using student achievement data to drive improvement

- Strong communication, organisational and leadership capabilities

- Active Christian with regular involvement in a local church and the ability to lead through faith, integrity and service.
