Impact you will have in this role
As CRM Manager, you will be the Salesforce expert within the Development team, taking ownership of the CRM and the broader third-party integrations to ensure the organisation is maximising the value of its technology and data.
Reporting to the Head of Development Operations, you will work across the Development team to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions that strengthen processes, automation, reporting, data quality and user adoption.
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering a comprehensive data strategy, using Salesforce and its integrated platforms to support donor journeys, segmentation, campaign effectiveness and data-driven decision-making.
This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced Salesforce user who can combine strong technical capability with an understanding of fundraising needs. You will take ownership of complex challenges, using your technical expertise and judgement to develop practical solutions, while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to continuously improve the CRM and its integrations.
You will also manage and develop the Development Officer – Data & Analytics, providing guidance across campaign data management, reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Salesforce CRM, overseeing administration, configuration and continuous improvement to support fundraising activity.
- Maintain strong data quality and integrity across the CRM, including data governance, imports, exports, hygiene and quality control.
- Develop and optimise Salesforce flows, reporting, dashboards and segmentation to support donor journeys, campaigns and data-driven decision-making.
- Manage and optimise integrations across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Funraisin, Movedata, Dataro, Docomotion, Slack and other connected platforms.
- Partner with fundraising stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical CRM and data solutions.
- Provide Salesforce training and support to users, while managing external vendors for system updates, integrations and troubleshooting.
- Manage and develop the Development Officer – Data & Analytics, providing guidance across campaign data, reporting and insights.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience administering Salesforce, ideally within a fundraising or not-for-profit environment.
- Understanding of fundraising operations is preferred, with the ability to translate business needs into practical CRM and data solutions.
- Experience developing campaign structures, donor journeys, segmentation, dashboards and moves management systems.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, integrity, reporting and analytics, with advanced Excel skills and an understanding of data logic and flows.
- Experience managing and optimising third-party integrations, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance strategic projects, continuous improvement and day-to-day priorities.
- Ability to manage a team member, providing strong guidance and mentorship.
