This particular role sits with Atlas (a Sequana Group Company), our brownfield water and wastewater specialist. Atlas focuses on improving delivery success across the full lifecycle, from condition assessment and optimisation through to renewal and upgrade delivery. Since 2011, their teams have delivered programs 95% on time, 98% on budget, with over $100m in TOTEX savings, by bringing together senior, cross-functional expertise across design, construction, maintenance and delivery management.

Atlas are currently hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer position.

Working as a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will bring technical depth in electrical engineering and a growing ability to navigate the commercial and human realities of delivery. You will lead project components with confidence, mentor junior team members, and build the kind of client relationships that keep people coming back to Atlas.

- Leading the engineering scope on project components including developing concept options, detailed design packages, technical specifications and design reports in your primary discipline.
- Facilitating or leading safety in design reviews, HAZOP, SiD and CHAIR workshops including preparing, running and following up on actions.
- Reviewing the work of Graduate Engineers and Engineers on your project, checking technical quality, giving direct feedback and making sure outputs meet Atlas standards before they leave the door.
- Reviewing third-party design documentation including checking scope, standards compliance and constructability,



and providing clear technical comments that protect Atlas and the client.
- Conducting site assessments and engaging directly with construction teams to resolve technical queries, review as-built conditions and provide design support during delivery.
- Attending client-facing design meetings and technical presentations, explaining your design rationale, responding to technical queries and managing expectations through the design phase.
- Working through engineering challenges, interpreting as-built conditions, assessing asset condition, designing for maintainability and constructability in live operating environments.
- Contributing to design cost estimates and programme inputs, providing realistic task hour estimates and flagging scope changes early.
- Monitoring your project scope, hours and budget, tracking where you sit, raising issues early and keeping your Project Manager informed.
- Contributing to project close-out including commissioning support, handover documentation, lessons learned and case study input that builds Atlas’s body of knowledge.
- Support project delivery partners with procurement/tendering processes and activities (mainly providing technical oversight and due diligence).

WHO YOU ARE

Candidates should possess:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Engineering (Electrical or Instrumentation & Controls).
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- LV distribution, switchgear, discrimination, protection & cable sizing, calculations and specification skills.
- Key standards: AS3000, AS 61439.
- Experience supporting project delivery partners with procurement/tendering processes and activities (mainly providing technical oversight and due diligence).
- Site/construction experience, fault finding, troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
- DC systems – battery chargers, UPS’, battery/DC storage sizing, calculations and specification experience.
- Motor starters, DB’s, Switchboards, VSD’s and MCC design, engineering, sizing and specification skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ experience (not essential):





- Experience using PowerCAD, LUX calc tools and Arc Flash.
- I&C; fundamentals, specification, control narrative/philosophies
