Job description:

The Opportunity

Survey Management Solutions (SMS) is growing, and we're looking for a Surveyor to join our Melbourne Infrastructure team, based in Port Melbourne.

Working alongside experienced Senior Surveyors and Project Teams, you'll support the delivery of major civil infrastructure projects across metropolitan Melbourne. From roads and rail to utilities and transport infrastructure, you'll gain valuable experience while working with the latest surveying technology on complex and rewarding projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated surveyor looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career in infrastructure surveying.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering engineering set-out for infrastructure projects
- Conducting feature, level and as-built surveys
- Collecting survey data to support construction activities
- Assisting with survey computations and data processing
- Creating digital terrain models and machine guidance files
- Operating GPS, Total Stations and modern survey equipment
- Working closely with site supervisors, engineers and construction crews




- Supporting machine guidance and digital engineering requirements
- Maintaining accurate survey records and project documentation
- Ensuring survey work meets required tolerances and project specifications
- Working safely while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism

About You

You're someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical challenges and being part of a cooperative project team.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Qualifications in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics or a related discipline
- Approximately 2-5 years' experience in construction or engineering surveying
- Experience using GPS, Total Stations and modern survey software
- Machine guidance experience or a willingness to develop these skills
- A current driver's licence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning
- A commitment to safety and quality
