About the role
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will partner with the divisions of Australian Red Cross to provide commercially astute legal advice to support our humanitarian objectives.
This role requires an experienced in house lawyer who thrives on working autonomously in a dynamic and diverse environment. Day to day you will support our program and services areas to operate effectively in compliance with laws and regulations. You will proactively identify legal risks and suggest practical solutions.
What you will bring
- Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current practising certificate. A minimum of 5 years PQE with at least 2 of those years practicing in house is desirable.
- Substantial experience working on a range of legal matters and subject areas. In-house experience advising on employment matters and award interpretation is highly desirable. In-house experience in information technology, privacy and legislative compliance is also well regarded.
- Excellent general commercial legal skills including contractual drafting and review.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships which allow you to influence and drive action
