Job Description

Location: Norwest, NSW

Salary Package: $48 per hour + Super

Role Highlights: Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation operating across multiple sectors including construction, manufacturing, transport and industrial services. Working within a supportive payroll team, you will take ownership of payroll processing while contributing to ongoing improvements and key payroll initiatives. This role will suit a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will be responsible for the accurate processing of payroll for both salaried and hourly employees across multiple business entities. On a weekly and fortnightly basis, you will manage payroll cycles, maintain employee data, process payroll adjustments and ensure all payroll obligations are completed accurately and on time.

In addition to payroll processing,



you will play a key role in maintaining legislative compliance and supporting stakeholders with payroll-related enquiries. The position offers exposure to a large and complex payroll environment, providing opportunities to contribute to system enhancements, process improvements and reporting initiatives that support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for multiple business entities using Micropay

• Ensure all payroll transactions are completed accurately and within required deadlines

• Manage payroll tax, superannuation and Single Touch Payroll reporting requirements

• Maintain and update employee payroll records and master data

• Investigate and resolve payroll enquiries from employees and internal stakeholders

• Ensure compliance with relevant awards, legislation and company policies

• Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with month-end payroll reporting

• Support payroll audits and compliance reviews where required

• Contribute to payroll process improvement initiatives and system enhancements

• Liaise with HR, Finance and operational teams to ensure payroll accuracy

Candidate Profile





You are an experienced Payroll Officer with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and payroll best practice. You have demonstrated experience processing payroll in medium to large organisations and take pride in delivering accurate outcomes within tight deadlines. Your strong attention to detail and organisational skills allow you to effectively manage competing priorities.

The successful candidate will possess hands-on Micropay experience and be comfortable working within a multi-entity environment. You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across the business, have excellent communication skills and take a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and improving payroll processes.
