About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Services Engineer to apply their design expertise within a building contractor environment, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle from design development through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Working on technically complex projects, you will collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and project delivery teams to improve buildability, coordination and project outcomes.

This role is ideal for engineers looking to move beyond consultancy and develop broader capability across construction, design management and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Review mechanical services designs for compliance, buildability, coordination, maintainability, safety and cost effectiveness.
- Support design development and coordination from consultant documentation through to construction-ready information.
- Identify opportunities for DfMA, prefabrication, modularisation and off-site manufacture.
- Coordinate services requirements with consultants, subcontractors, architects, structural engineers and project teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, BIM models, shop drawings and technical submissions.
- Support design queries, RFIs, procurement activities and technical approvals.
- Assist site teams to resolve design and coordination issues during construction.
- Undertake site inspections and support testing, commissioning, defects management and project handover.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.

About You

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.




- Approximately 4-7 years' experience within a building services, engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy workplace.
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, BIM models and technical documentation.
- Interest in construction methodology, DfMA, prefabrication and modern construction methods.
- Experience using BIM and digital engineering platforms such as Revit and Navisworks is preferred.
- Exposure to complex projects including healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceutical, data centers, education or public infrastructure is desirable.
- Experience with prefabricated services modules, plant skids, service risers or modular plantrooms is advantageous.
