About New Porgera

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua Recent Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua Current Guineans at full production, and over the last 30 years of life of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea’s total annual exports.

About the role

As the Superintendent – Capital & Projects, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our operation by leading the planning, governance and optimisation of the site's capital portfolio. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will ensure capital investments are aligned with strategic objectives and long-term mine plans, delivering value for both the operation and our people.

You will oversee annual capital budgets, forecasts and life-of-mine capital planning, while coordinating the Authority for Expenditure (AFE) process, supporting business case development and ensuring projects meet governance, financial and operational requirements. Success will come through strong collaboration and leadership, partnering with Operations, Technical Services, Maintenance, Finance and Supply Chain teams to support projects from planning through to delivery, helping manage scope, schedule, cost and risk to achieve successful outcomes.

Lead capital reporting, forecasting and portfolio reviews, providing meaningful insights to support decision-making. You will coach and develop the Capital Planning team, foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement,



championing best-practice capital management that delivers sustainable business value.

You will model safety behaviors, coach and develop your team, working to assess and manage risk. NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter, with strong ability in delivery to support the mines successful operation whilst coordinating the efforts of your team to complete projects according to plan in a timely and safe manner.

About you

To be successful in this role:

- You will hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business, Mining or a related discipline,

- Significant experience in capital planning, project controls, portfolio management or project delivery within mining & resources.

- A strong understanding of capital governance processes, business case development, Authority for Expenditure (AFE) management, budgeting and forecasting,

- Ability to analyse complex data and translate it into actionable insights, working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Power BI, OneStream and project controls tools is highly desirable.

- A confident communicator with proven stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across multiple disciplines and leadership levels.





- Demonstrated experience leading teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment will be essential. Most importantly, you will bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, strong commercial acumen and a commitment to delivering secure, efficient and value-driven outcomes.

- Demonstrate a ‘One Team’ approach, providing effective leadership and development for your local team to reinforce NPL’s culture and values, always promoting a safe work environment. The position requires a high energy individual, hands-on management style and desire to continuously improve you and your team’s knowledge, systems and methods of work.

This role is offered on a FIFO basis Australia/New Zealand with a 21/14 roster on a contract basis with a highly competitive remuneration package.
