Job description:

The Opportunity

Survey Management Solutions (SMS) is growing, and we're looking for a Surveyor to join our South East Victoria team, based in Clyde North.

Working alongside experienced Senior Surveyors and the Area Manager, you'll support the delivery of civil infrastructure, land development and construction projects across Melbourne's South East and the Gippsland region. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in engineering surveying who is looking to further develop their technical skills while working on a diverse range of projects.

You'll enjoy a combination of field and office work, using modern survey technology while building your experience in construction surveying within a supportive and collaborative team.

What You'll Be Doing

Every project is different, but your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering accurate engineering set out for civil construction projects
- Undertaking feature, level and as-built surveys




- Capturing survey information to support quantity calculations and material usage
- Assisting with survey computations and processing survey data
- Preparing digital terrain models and machine guidance files
- Operating GPS, Total Stations and machine guidance equipment
- Ensuring survey equipment is maintained and calibrated to specification
- Working closely with Foremen, Project Managers and construction crews to ensure survey information is available when required
- Providing technical support to site personnel on engineering set out and GPS utilisation
- Completing daily reports, digital timesheets and project documentation
- Conducting site checks to ensure work meets required tolerances and specifications
- Maintaining a safe, professional and quality-focused approach on every project.

About You

You're someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical problems and being part of a team delivering quality outcomes.

You'll ideally have:

- A Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics or a related discipline
- Approximately 2-5 years' experience in construction or engineering surveying
- Experience using GPS, Total Stations and machine guidance technology




- Basic to intermediate survey computation and data processing skills
- A White Card and current driver's licence
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- A positive attitude and a willingness to continue learning and developing your surveying career.
