Job description:

The Opportunity

Survey Management Solutions (SMS) is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our Melbourne Infrastructure team, based in Port Melbourne.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of Melbourne's largest civil infrastructure projects, including major road, rail, utilities and transport developments across metropolitan Melbourne. The role offers the perfect mix of field and office work, allowing you to combine hands-on surveying with project management, data processing, technical leadership and client liaison.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring surveyors and embracing new technology while delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering construction and engineering surveys across major infrastructure projects
- Performing set-out, as-built, feature, monitoring and control surveys
- Processing survey data and preparing accurate deliverables for clients
- Creating and managing digital terrain models and machine guidance files
- Operating and maintaining GPS, Total Stations, laser scanners and other modern survey equipment
- Managing survey quality,



documentation and project schedules
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring Surveyors and Junior Surveyors
- Liaising with clients, project managers, engineers and site teams
- Supporting machine control and digital engineering requirements
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism

About You

You'll be an experienced surveyor who enjoys both technical work and leading people.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Qualifications in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics or a related discipline
- Several years' experience delivering construction or infrastructure surveying projects
- Strong knowledge of GPS, Total Stations and modern survey software
- Experience processing survey data and producing quality deliverables
- Machine guidance experience
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A current driver's licence
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
