MV Law, a leading property and commercial law firm in Canberra, is seeking a motivated Graduate Lawyer or recently admitted lawyer to join our growing Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to commence your legal career under the guidance of experienced practitioners, working on challenging and rewarding matters across commercial, property and planning disputes. You will gain hands-on experience, meaningful client exposure and ongoing mentoring in a collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Role

Working closely with an experienced Partner and senior lawyers, you will be involved in a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters. As your skills and confidence develop, you will be given increasing responsibility and opportunities to manage aspects of matters independently.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the management of litigation and dispute resolution matters

- Conducting legal research and preparing written advice

- Drafting correspondence, court documents and other legal documents

- Gathering, reviewing and analysing evidence

- Assisting with the preparation of matters for court appearances, mediations and hearings

- Communicating with clients, counsel, experts and other stakeholders





- Supporting lawyers in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes

- Helping clients achieve practical and commercially focused outcomes

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing a career in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Ideally, you will:

- Be in your final year of a law degree, completing Practical Legal Training, or recently admitted as a lawyer

- Demonstrate a strong interest in commercial litigation, dispute resolution, property or planning law

- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Possess strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills

- Be motivated to learn and develop professionally

- Have the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues

- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Bring a professional, proactive and positive attitude to your work

- Exercise discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
