About the Role:
Pastoral Support: Community Life and Worship, works collaboratively with the Pastoral Leader to support parishes, schools, and communities in the areas of liturgy and community life. In addition, the Pastoral Support is a broad and adaptable role which provides pastoral expertise and facilitation across the Pastoral Services Team to support priorities and implement effective strategies that engage people in the faith, life and mission of the Archdiocese of Adelaide. The position is responsible for delivering programs, project management, resource procurement, development and provisioning that build the capacity for ministry in the Archdiocese of Adelaide and its parishes, schools and communities.
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Develop and deliver training for various liturgical and sacramental ministries
- Research emerging topics and contribute to the development of new resources and programs
- Develop expertise in the process of Christian initiation and keep abreast of the latest resources
- Lead the development of diocesan initiation resources and training
- Establish and maintain an initiation sub-committee at the diocesan level
- Build relationships of trust with clergy and parish teams
- Collaborate with all members of the Pastoral Services Team to bring about a mission-centered church
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned, in line with skills, experience, and role requirements.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds bachelor’s degree in theology or related field (post-graduate degree preferred)
- Holds relevant qualification or study in ministry
- Brings practical experience in ministry leadership
- Demonstrates experienced in group facilitation
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education
- Has previous experience working with youth and/or must be able demonstrate a thorough understanding of appropriate behaviours and protective safeguarding practices when interacting with children and young people.
- Is a practicing Catholic with a commitment to continually deepening in faith and building community
- •Establishes rapport easily and maintains constructive and respectful professional relationships across the spectrum of beliefs and approaches
- Communicates clearly and can adapt material to different audiences
- Is organised and systematic in project management, takes initiative, and follows through on projects
- Considers and evaluates different perspectives before making recommendations
- Has an understanding of their obligations as a mandated notifier and agrees to complete mandatory safeguarding training as set by the Safeguarding Operations Team within the Integrity & Safeguarding Department of the Archdiocese.
