Sydney
We are recruiting a Desktop Support Analyst for a leading Australian professional services organisation based in Sydney CBD.
This is a hands-on, user-facing Level 2 support role within a high-performing corporate environment. It will suit someone who genuinely enjoys desktop support, solving problems, working directly with users and delivering a high standard of service.
Important Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be currently based in Sydney, NSW.
- Hold full, unrestricted Australian working rights as either an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be able to work 5 days per week onsite in Sydney CBD.
- Be comfortable with a salary of approximately $85K–$90K + 12% super, circa $100K package.
- Be available to work a rotating weekday roster covering 7:30am–6:00pm.
- Have hands-on experience supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
- Be genuinely interested in remaining in a Desktop Support role for at least 12–18 months.
Please do not apply if you are currently based interstate, require relocation, hold temporary working rights, require sponsorship, are seeking hybrid/remote work, or require a salary materially above this range.
The Role
Working within an established national IT Services function, you will provide Level 2 desktop and end-user support to a professional corporate workforce.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Resolving Level 2 desktop incidents and service requests.
- Supporting Windows 11 laptops and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Troubleshooting laptops, monitors, headsets, peripherals, connectivity and workplace technology.
- Providing face-to-face support to users across the Sydney office.
- Taking ownership of incidents and requests through to resolution.
- Supporting meeting rooms, AV equipment and client-facing technology.
- Providing real-time technical support during meetings and events where required.
- Working with infrastructure and other specialist IT teams when escalation is needed.
- Supporting BAU patching, device maintenance and general end-user technology.
The workplace also uses contemporary AI and digital tools, giving the team exposure to an evolving modern workplace technology environment.
What We Are Looking For
Technical capability is important, but success in this environment also requires strong emotional intelligence, adaptability and customer service.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in Desktop Support, Level 2 IT Support, EUC or a similar corporate support role.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 11.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Experience troubleshooting laptops, desktops, monitors, peripherals and connectivity issues.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Confidence providing face-to-face support in a professional corporate environment.
- A calm approach when dealing with senior or time-sensitive stakeholders.
- Strong ownership of incidents and service requests.
- A reliable employment history and a genuine interest in continuing within Desktop Support.
Exposure to AV, meeting-room technology, ServiceNow, ITIL, networking or professional services environments would be beneficial but is not essential where you demonstrate strong technical aptitude.
Previous experience within a law firm, consulting organisation, financial services business,
insurance company or similarly high-touch corporate setting would be highly regarded.
The Environment
You will join an established IT Services function supporting a large professional workforce.
The broader support environment includes:
- National Service Desk / Level 1 support.
- Level 2 Desktop Support teams across multiple offices.
- Digital learning and enablement teams.
- Service management.
- Infrastructure and specialist technical teams.
Typical Desktop Support issues include laptops, headsets, monitors, connectivity, desk technology, application support and general end-user troubleshooting.
The Windows 11 migration and major monitor refresh have already been completed, so the role is primarily focused on high-quality BAU support rather than a major transformation project.
Career Development
This organisation offers genuine longer-term career development for people who first establish themselves within the Desktop Support team.
Please Consider Before Applying
This role has very clear parameters.
You should apply if you are:
- Currently living in Sydney
- An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Happy to work onsite 5 days per week in Sydney CBD
- Comfortable with $85K–$90K + 12% super
- Available for a rotating roster between 7:30am and 6:00pm
- Experienced with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
- Comfortable supporting users face-to-face in a busy corporate environment
- Looking for a Desktop Support opportunity you can genuinely commit to for 12–18 months or longer
If you are primarily looking for remote/hybrid work, sponsorship, relocation assistance, a significantly higher salary, or an immediate move into cloud, infrastructure or cyber, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
For someone who genuinely enjoys Desktop Support and wants to build their career within a sophisticated skilled services technology environment, this is an excellent long-term opportunity.
