Position
We are seeking a Monitoring Surveyor to join our Melbourne team and help deliver automated monitoring systems on major infrastructure and construction projects. This role is ideal for a surveyor who wants to move beyond traditional set-out or manual survey work and build specialist expertise in real-time deformation monitoring, automated total stations, GNSS systems and monitoring data workflows.
You will support the installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting of automated monitoring networks, including robotic total stations, prisms, GNSS receivers, communications equipment and cloud-based monitoring platforms. Rather than carrying out routine manual surveys, your focus will be on setting up reliable automated systems, validating data quality, identifying movement trends and helping project teams make timely, evidence-based decisions.
The Company
Sixense Oceania is a specialist infrastructure monitoring, instrumentation and digital engineering business working across Australia and New Zealand. We help contractors, asset owners and public authorities understand how structures, ground and the surrounding environment are behaving in real time, supporting safer construction and better long-term asset performance.
Our work combines field instrumentation, automated data acquisition, monitoring software and engineering insight. From rail, road, tunnel, bridge, dam, mining and urban infrastructure projects, we turn reliable measurement data into clear information that helps project teams manage risk and make confident decisions.
As part of the global Sixense Group, we bring together local delivery capability and international expertise in geotechnical, structural and environmental monitoring, digital inspection, InSAR satellite monitoring and data platforms.
We are growing strongly in the region and are looking for practical,
curious and motivated people who want to develop specialist skills, work on complex infrastructure projects and contribute to a business where their effort is visible and valued.
At Sixense, you will be part of a supportive technical team with opportunities to learn from experienced surveyors, engineers, technicians and digital monitoring specialists locally and through our wider international network.
