Position Purpose

Ensuring cost estimates are produced in a timely and competitive manner in order to secure ongoing opportunities and work.

Organizational Relationships

Internal stakeholders:

Reporting to the Lead estimator and all staff including safety advisor.

External stakeholders:

The position represents Advanced Building Pty Ltd to all customers and external stakeholders. Ensuring the employee presents and conducts themselves in a qualified manner at all times including interactions with loss adjusters, insurance parties, sub-contractors and other external parties associated with ABQ.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

· Manage and produce detailed scopes of work and cost estimates in line with project documentation, considering quality, safety, and environmental requirements

· Be able to interpret construction plans and specifications whilst completing take offs to ensure accurate measure of BOQ’s.

· Co-ordinate site meetings with sub trades to obtain tender costing

· Provide training and guidance to estimation staff when needed

· Develop relationships with clients, trades, and suppliers to secure ongoing opportunities and pursue new opportunities as they present

· Participating in regular project site meeting with the wider team to address matters proactively





· Maintaining internal systems and databases

· Inspecting and assessing property damages for repairs and technical projects

· The role has the option for a vehicle allowance, or a company supplied vehicle

· Covering North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast region but not limited (required to travel to South Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast when required)

Safety Responsibilities

· Able to maintain safe work practices in line with WH&S; policies and procedures.

Desirable Skills

· Insurance building experience

· Risk assessment experience

· Organisational skills and ability to write reports

· Understanding of the building code of Australia.

· Previous estimating experience in a similar role.

· Excellent time management and organisational skills

· Advanced verbal and written communication skills

· Able to provide an assessment report in line with clients expectations

· Work autonomously and part of a team of estimators as well as independently.

· Hold a current driving license
