Formulation Chemist

Fertiliser Industry Experience Preferred

Omnia Specialities Australia is seeking a Formulation Chemist to join our team in Morwell, Victoria.

This role supports the innovation and continuous improvement of fertiliser products through formulation development, technical problem-solving, laboratory testing and support for manufacturing efficiency.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager: Operations, you will develop and formulate recent fertiliser products for commercialisation, investigate new raw materials and formulation methods, assist with new processing techniques and troubleshoot liquid formulation issues.

You will work closely with production and quality teams to support product scale-up, improve processes, maintain accurate research records and ensure work is completed in line with safety, regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimise fertiliser formulations

- Research and evaluate new raw materials and formulation methods

- Design, conduct and analyse laboratory experiments

- Analyse experimental data and recommend product and process improvements

- Troubleshoot liquid formulation issues, including quality, stability and performance concerns

- Support product development and commercialisation projects

- Maintain accurate records of formulations, experiments and test results

- Prepare technical reports with findings,



outcomes and recommendations

- Collaborate with production and quality teams to support product scale-up and manufacturing

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements

About You

- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline

- Experience in chemical formulation development and optimisation

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience designing and conducting laboratory experiments

- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data

- Strong technical writing and reporting skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Previous fertiliser industry experience preferred

- Experience in crop nutrition, agricultural inputs or related industries will be highly regarded
