This position is situated in our Supported Residential Service in the Preston area and shifts are at Family friendly day time hours (9:30am-6pm). The cook is an integral and valued member of the wider Support Services team. This role is accountable for the provision of food services for residents and staff, whilst ensuring compliance to the Food safety Guidelines and Victorian Cleaning Standards. The Kitchen Hand contributes to a clean, secure and comfortable setting for all our residents and staff.

Customer experience in the Disability industry is favourable.

About the Role

You will achieve benchmark standards in food safety, kitchen cleanliness and sanitising processes, ensuring the delivery of residents' meals. You will also receive goods and store accordingly, ensuring stock rotation procedures are followed.




Quality and hygienic food preparation
Heat and Serve Lunch and Dinner for 30+ residents
General cleaning of the kitchen and fridges – floor, ceiling etc.
Cleaning of equipment and utensils
Receive stock and ensure proper storage of stock
Assist in stock take
Clean/sanitise delivery and storage area
Demonstrate positive workplace behaviours and relationships

Your Contribution
Current food handling certificate required
Experience in high volume food service
Customer satisfaction driven
Experience with people with Disability preferable
Current NDIS Worker Screening check and National Police Check, or willing to obtain
