Linux Engineer - Puppet

Initial 6-month contract + potential 6-month extension

We are looking for experienced Puppet Engineers / Infrastructure Automation Engineers to join a large-scale enterprise technology environment in Sydney.
This is a hands-on infrastructure automation role suited to engineers with robust Linux/Unix and Puppet experience who are comfortable developing, maintaining and troubleshooting configuration management solutions in complex environments.

What you'll be doing
Develop and maintain Puppet manifests and modules
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
Build and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
Troubleshoot and optimise Puppet environments
Perform hands-on Linux/Unix systems administration
Support configuration and automation across large enterprise environments
Integrate infrastructure automation with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Develop automation scripts using Ruby, Bash and/or Python
Work closely with infrastructure, platform and DevOps engineering teams




Maintain technical documentation and contribute to automation best practices

What we're looking for
Robust, recent hands-on Puppet experience
Experience developing or maintaining Puppet manifests/modules
Strong Linux/Unix infrastructure engineering experience
Valuable understanding of configuration management and infrastructure automation
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Scripting experience with Ruby, Bash or Python
Experience with Git and CI/CD
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
Experience working within large enterprise environments

Experience with Puppet Enterprise, RHEL/Red Hat, Terraform, Ansible, AWS or Azure would be highly regarded.

The opportunity
You'll join a significant enterprise infrastructure program with an initial six-month engagement and potential for a further six-month extension.
