HR Manager | Hands-On People Leader | Mechanical Services Industry $130,000 - $140,000 + Super | Melbourne

Are you an experienced HR qualified who enjoys being close to the business, working with people at all levels and making a genuine impact? Auscool is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support a national workforce of approximately 170 employees within a rapid-paced mechanical services setting.

This is a unique opportunity for an HR leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution. You will work closely with leadership while remaining connected to the operational side of the business, supporting managers, supervisors and employees across the full HR function.

This role is suited to someone who understands that effective HR is built through visibility, relationships and trust. You will be comfortable providing strategic advice while also managing the day-to-day realities of HR within a trades-based environment.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide strategic HR guidance and support to leadership
Manage employee relations and industrial relations matters
Interpret and provide advice relating to the company EBA
Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning
Manage HR administration,



policies and employee processes
Support WHS activities including incident reporting, risk management and compliance
Coach managers through performance, conduct and workplace matters
Contribute to culture, engagement and continuous improvement initiatives

About you:

You will be an experienced HR professional who thrives in an operational workplace and can build credibility with employees across all levels of an organisation.

Ideally, you will have:
Experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner
Strong ER and IR experience with confidence managing complex workplace matters
Experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements, ideally within construction, mechanical services or a trades environment
Understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR compliance
Exposure to WHS processes, incident reporting and workplace risk management
A practical, approachable style with the ability to influence and support leaders

This is not a traditional corporate HR role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being visible, hands-on and connected to the workforce.
