Aligned Search is partnering with a well-established organisation based in Sydney CBD, to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager. This role will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 700 employees on a weekly cycle. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll manage both onshore and offshore team members, ensuring seamless payroll delivery and continuous process improvement.

About the role:
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for 700 employees
Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed payroll team (onshore & offshore)
Ensure compliance with SCHADS and Nurses Awards, including complex interpretations
Manage payroll queries, escalations, and stakeholder communication
Drive process improvements, controls, and efficiencies across the function
Partner with HR and Finance to support broader business objectives

About You




Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Lead in a high-volume setting
Strong working knowledge of SCHADS and/or Nurses Award interpretation
Experience managing both local and offshore payroll teams
Hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on governance and compliance
