We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to play a key role in delivering critical cyber security uplift initiatives across a large Queensland Government workplace.

In this hands-on role, you'll lead the technical implementation of security improvements, working across Microsoft technologies to strengthen security posture and support Essential Eight compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
Lead implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across legacy applications and systems.
Enhance and optimise Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM) , including logging and monitoring capabilities.
Deliver cyber security uplift initiatives aligned with Essential Eight and industry best practices.
Produce technical designs, documentation and implementation plans.




Drive technical change management and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Support business continuity, backup, high availability and system decommissioning activities.

We're looking for experience with:
Microsoft 365, Azure and Microsoft Security technologies
Active Directory & Group Policy
Hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
Solid technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
