Chef – Hong Kong Style Restaurant

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team at a busy Hong Kong-style restaurant in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining consistent food standards, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of Hong Kong-style and Asian dishes to a consistently high standard
Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
Maintain food quality, freshness and consistency
Manage kitchen preparation and service efficiently
Ensure food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained
Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising food wastage
Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team
Train and support junior kitchen staff when required
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Contribute ideas for menu development and improvement

About You

We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working as a Chef in a restaurant or commercial kitchen




Has experience with Hong Kong-style cuisine, Cantonese cuisine or Asian cuisine (preferred)
Is confident working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in food quality
Can work independently and as part of a team
Has good communication and time-management skills
Is reliable, responsible and maintains a positive attitude
Understands food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements
