The Position
As a Security Advisor at CEA you will provide crucial support services within the national protective security office.
This will include administrative tasks to assist senior team members in the implementation, compliance and conservation of security licenses, accreditations, policies, procedures and related items.
This position is suitable for an experienced security professional who is motivated by maintaining and enhancing positive employee engagements, through fostering strong stakeholder relationships and providing accurate and informed guidance on any security queries.
Key Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise on one or more of the following protective security disciplines:
o Security Governance, Risk and Compliance
o Personnel Security
o Physical Security
o Communications Security
o Information Security
o Security Education, Training & Awareness
Perform various duties of the Security Officer as defined in the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), as assigned.
Assist the Senior Security Advisor with the implementation of security measures required to maintain external security licences and accreditations.
Assist with various security administrative tasks
Assist with the preparation of incident and contact reports for submission to external agencies.
Assist with the audit,



review and update of internal security policies/procedures.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and the management of security related expenditure in an effective manner within approved budgets and delegations.
Other related duties as required, as directed by the Senior Security Advisor.

Our Ideal Candidate
Preferred minimum two years' experience within a Defence or Defence Industry environment.
Strong working knowledge and experience in the management of one or more protective security disciplines (i.e. personnel security clearances, security keys, key safes, security containers, management of domestic and overseas visitors, safe-hand processes, electronic security systems such as access control, intruder alarm and CCTV).
Certificate III/IV in Security Operations and the Defence Security Officers course, or other relevant qualifications.
Intermediate skills in use of Microsoft Office and Security Systems Software.
A sound working knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire:
o Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
o Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
o Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance processes.
o Security Risk Management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support positive employee engagement,



contractor interactions and incident reporting.
Eligibility
• An Australian Citizen;
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Positive Vetting (PV).
Current PV Clearance preferred.
• ITAR – This position requires employees to access equipment and data that is subject to U.S International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR).
