The position is permanent part time, 10 hours per week.The HITH (Hospital in the Home) nurse is responsible for improving the health and wellbeing of the patient and supporting the family, works as part of a team with medical staff, managing new patient referrals, utilising clinical reasoning skills to provide high quality nursing care and discharging patients as appropriate.
Services provided include clinical progress assessment, education and support, IV medications and wound dressings.It is an exciting time to join the child and adolescent team at Royal North Shore Hospital.
We have a 20 bedded inpatient ward, medical and surgical short stay unit, hospital in the home and outpatients services.
We cater for children from 0-17 years who are admitted to the unit.
Our main specialities include medical, surgical, orthopaedic, ENT, plastics and mental health.
We are a welcoming team and offer a supportive fun environment to all staff joining the team.
The senior nursing support team includes full time NUM, CNE, CNC and CNS 2's.
The unit has a strong philosophy of quality improvement and family centred care.
