This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced 24/7 pathology service that supports patient care across the hospital and wider health district.The successful applicant must be available to work a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.We are a proud multicultural team that values diversity and fosters a workplace culture built on respect, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.What you'll be doingProvide day-to-day supervision of Central Specimen Reception staff while supporting the training, competency assessment, and ongoing development of recent and existing team members.
Assist in sendaway management to ensure timely processing, tracking, and follow-up of referred specimens and results.
Liaise with the Pathology Collections Technical Officer to support and improve Pre-Analytical service delivery.
Undertake additional duties and directions as required by the Pre-Analytical Manager and Deputy Manager, while maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

Apply now by addressing the following questions:Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operationsDemonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality SystemsDemonstrated experience supervising laboratory staff, with the ability to work responsibly and efficiently while managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectationsCustomer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staffDisplay initiative,
