About DPE CivilDPE Civil is a growing civil construction company delivering earthworks, underground services and civil infrastructure works across Townsville and surrounding areas.
Due to continued project demand, we are expanding our team and looking for reliable and experienced crew members to join us across several roles.
These are hands-on positions suited to people who understand that civil construction is production-driven, safety-focused and team-based.
Key ResponsibilitiesExcavator / Multi-Skilled Plant Operators• Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, rollers and other plant• Conduct daily pre-start checks and maintain machinery• Bulk earthworks, detailed excavation and site preparation• Trenching for stormwater, sewer and water services• Batter work, benching and backfilling around services• Work safely around underground services• Assist with set-out and working to levels• Support ground crew when required
Must be experienced in Excavator operations.
GPS and Final-Trim operating experience is preferrable, however not necessary.
Excavator ticket is required for Multi-Skilled Plant Operator positions.
Civil Pipelayers• Installation of stormwater, sewer and water pipelines• Installing pits,



manholes and associated structures• Reading and interpreting plans and working to line and level• Using laser levels and trench shields• Ensuring correct bedding, alignment, compaction and backfill• Maintaining protected trench and shoring practices
Confined space and trenching/shoring tickets are desirable.
A minimum of 1-2 years of pipelaying experience is required for Civil Pipelayer roles.
Civil Construction Labourers• Assist with trenching, pipe installation and backfilling• Support operators and trades on site• Use hand and power tools safely• Assist with concreting and general civil works• Maintain a clean and safe worksite
Skills & Qualifications• Minimum 1 year civil construction experience• Relevant experience for the position applying for• White Card (Construction Induction) – essential• Current driver's licence and reliable transport• Relevant plant tickets (Excavator, Roller, Loader, Skid Steer etc.) where applicable• Pipe laying experience for pipelayer roles• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings• Strong work ethic and attention to detail• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Strong safety awareness and care for equipment• Australian permanent residency or citizenship required
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is preferred for all positions.




Minimum 1 year civil construction experience may vary depending on other skills and capabilities demonstrated by the applicant.
A current car licence (C class) and reliable transport are required for all positions.
