About the role
Kerry's Automotive Group is seeking a Parts Interpreter to join our automotive trades team on a full time basis in Darwin, NT.
This role is essential to our operations, serving as a critical link between our customers, technicians, and suppliers.
As a Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and communicating vehicle component information with precision and professionalism.
Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver efficient service and maintain our reputation for excellence in the automotive industry.
This is a hands-on position where your technical knowledge and attention to detail will be valued and utilised daily.
What you'll be doing
Liaising with customers to understand their vehicle requirements and determine the correct parts needed
Communicating with technicians and workshop staff to confirm parts compatibility and technical specifications
Consulting parts catalogues, databases, and manufacturer documentation to locate accurate part information
Sourcing parts from suppliers and managing inventory to ensure availability of commonly used components
Providing technical advice to customers regarding part compatibility, quality, and pricing options
Processing parts orders and managing delivery schedules to meet customer and workshop timelines
Maintaining accurate records of parts transactions and maintaining organised filing systems
Assisting in the resolution of parts-related issues and disputes with customers and suppliers




Contributing to a safe and organised workplace environment within the parts department
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Advisor, or similar role within the automotive industry
Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle components, part identification systems, and automotive terminology
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, parts diagrams, and component specifications
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple part requests simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with customers and team members
Competency in using computer systems and parts management software, with willingness to learn new platforms
Attention to detail and accuracy in identifying parts and processing orders to minimise errors
Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to resolving parts-related challenges
Customer service mindset with a commitment to providing professional and helpful support
