Expressions of interest (EOI) are invited from ongoing and temporary employees within the NSW Public Sector who wish to be talent pooled for Department Liaison Officer opportunities in the Office of the Premier for temporary periods up to 12 months.
About the Role The Department Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of information between the Premier's Office, the Premier's Department and The Cabinet Office, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
The Department Liaison Officer provides strategic advice on whole-of-government issues and supports the Premier's office during Parliamentary sitting weeks and budget processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to emerging priorities.

We're Looking For Government Operations Expertise: Understanding of the Premier's Department and The Cabinet Office structures, roles, and functions.
You can critically assess complex requests for advice and coordinate responses that align with government priorities and processes.Strategic Relationship Management:



Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of government.
You can navigate sensitive conversations and manage stakeholder expectations with diplomacy and professionalism.Systems & Coordination Excellence: Strong organisational capabilities with experience using tracking systems to manage high volumes of confidential material.
You excel at coordinating complex processes and ensuring nothing falls through in rapid-paced environments.Integrity & Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to operate with the highest levels of discretion and integrity.
You understand the critical importance of maintaining confidentiality and can be trusted with sensitive government information.Political Acumen & Composure: Ability to maintain political neutrality while understanding the distinct roles and boundaries between Departmental and Ministerial staff.
You remain calm, measured, and solution-focused even under pressure.
