Our client has an exciting full-time opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Battery Technician to join its growing team in Waurn Ponds.
Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing & Project Engineer, you will play a key role in assembling, testing, troubleshooting and developing advanced lithium battery systems and components.
This hands-on role will see you working with cutting-edge lithium sulfur and lithium metal battery technology in one of Australia's most advanced battery manufacturing facilities.

What you will do:
You will support the assembly, testing and development of advanced battery systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.
Working across battery builds, testing, fault finding and quality control activities, you will contribute to the commercialisation of world-leading battery technology.
This role is responsible for:
Assembling battery packs, modules, wiring looms and mechanical components
Soldering, electrical wiring, crimping and connector assembly
Conducting battery charge and discharge testing using specialised equipment
Performing battery teardown,



inspection and fault-finding activities
Assisting with Battery Management System (BMS) installation and troubleshooting
Completing mechanical assembly of housings, fixtures and pack components
Following technical drawings, schematics, work instructions and CAD models
Maintaining accurate build, testing and inspection records
Ensuring quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process
Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment
To be successful in this role you will:
Have previous experience as a Battery Technician, Electronics Technician, Electrical Technician, Mechanical Assembler or similar technical trades-based role
Hold a Certificate III, IV, Diploma or Trade Qualification in Electrotechnology, Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related discipline
Have strong soldering, wiring, crimping and electrical assembly experience
Possess sound mechanical assembly skills and experience using workshop tools and equipment
Have experience conducting battery testing, inspections and fault-finding activities
Be capable of reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes
