The duties and responsibilities of position are :
Tasks
Manage the day to day flow of the kitchen
Check food stock and order to top up and record properly
Examining food to ensure quality
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
Preparing and cooking food
Seasoning food during cooking
Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
Plan and up date menus and daily specials and estimate food requirements
May need to explain the ingredients of the dishes
Train kitchen staff and apprentices
