We are seeking a hands‐on Senior Quality Assurance Lead to take ownership of the quality function within a growing Australian manufacturer.
Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you'll lead a small quality team while driving the evolution of the Quality Management System from a paper‐based environment to a modern, digital, audit‐ready operation.

About the Role
As the Senior Quality Assurance Lead, you will be the independent authority on product quality and GMP compliance, ensuring quality decisions remain objective and uncompromised by operational or commercial pressures.
Leading a team of two Quality Officers, you'll oversee quality systems, compliance, audits, investigations, product release,
documentation and continuous improvement initiatives while helping shape the future of the business through digitisation and smarter quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of end-to-end quality assurance and quality control from incoming materials through to finished product dispatch.
Implement and manage positive release processes to ensure every batch is approved against specification before dispatch.
Provide quality oversight of production activities including sampling, testing, batch documentation and line clearance.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing GMP compliance and audit readiness.
Lead the transition from paper-based quality documentation to digital systems, improving traceability, reporting and operational efficiency.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of Quality Officers while maintaining consistent quality and GMP standards.
Manage non-conformances, deviations, CAPAs and customer complaints through to effective resolution.
Coordinate internal audits, supplier audits and external customer or certification audits, including closure of audit findings.
Deliver quality and safety induction training for new production employees.
Prepare monthly quality reports analysing trends in complaints, non-conformances and CAPAs to support business decision‐making.
Maintain accurate Product Information Sheets and associated product documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through better systems, technologies and quality practices.
Promote a strong safety culture by reporting incidents and ensuring compliance with workplace
About You
We're looking for an experienced Quality leader who is confident making independent quality decisions, driving continuous improvement, and building robust, audit‐ready quality systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
You'll be a hands‐on leader with strong technical judgement, the ability to influence stakeholders at every level, and a passion for developing people while championing a culture of quality and compliance.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Minimum five years' experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within FMCG or another regulated manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience owning and managing a Quality Management System rather than simply working within one.
Strong knowledge of GMP, microbiological testing and workplace health and safety requirements.
Experience leading or supporting digital transformation of quality documentation and systems, with exposure to AI tools or process automation viewed favourably.
Proven experience hosting customer, third‐party or certification audits.
Robust investigation skills with experience managing CAPA, deviations and non-conformances.
Excellent leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring quality teams.
Strong scientific judgement and confidence to make informed quality decisions, even where information may be incomplete.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from the production floor through to senior leadership.
A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline will be highly regarded.
