This newly created role presents aunique opportunity to oversee the strategic direction,operationalmanagementand future growth of the precinct.Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, the SportsPrecinct Manager will lead a diverse portfolio encompassingsporting and aquatic facilities, health and wellbeing services,facility operations,financial management,stakeholderengagementand risk management.
Based on theCollege's picturesque South Perth campus, this role will play acritical part in ensuring the precinctremainsavibrant,safeand highly utilised destination forstudents,staffand the broadercommunity.
The Sports Precinct Manager will leada team responsible for delivering exceptional facility operationswhile creating opportunities to maximise participation, strengthenpartnerships and enhance the College's reputation as a leader insport,wellbeingand communityengagement.
KeyResponsibilities
As Sports Precinct Manager, youwill:
Lead theday-to-day operation of Wesley College's Sports Precinct,including sporting, aquatic,fitnessand playingfield facilities.
Ensurefacilities are safe,well-maintained,welcomingand fit forpurpose.
Overseefacility scheduling, utilisation,maintenanceplanningand operationalperformance.
Lead andsupport a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture ofaccountability,collaborationand serviceexcellence.
Managebudgets and financial performance, ensuring sustainable andefficient operations.
Identifyopportunities to enhance facilityutilisation, programs,servicesand communityengagement.
Developandmaintainpolicies,proceduresandoperational standards to support effective facilitymanagement.
Ensurecompliance with workplace health and safety,childsafeguardingand other regulatoryrequirements.
Coordinateoperational planning formajorsporting events,competitionsand communityactivities across the precinct.
Buildandmaintainstrong relationships with staff,sporting organisations, facility users,communitygroupsand externalpartners.
AboutYou
We areseekinganexperienced and capable leader with a proventrackrecordin the management of sporting, recreation, aquatic, orcommunity facilities.
You will bringsignificantexperienceleading multidisciplinary teams and managingexternal contractors and service providers to deliver high-qualityoperations and services.
You will have a strong understandingof risk management, workplace health and safety, and regulatorycompliance, supported bydemonstratedexperienceinfinancial management, budgeting, and resourceplanning.
A strategic and organised professional, you can balance day-to-day operational demands withlong-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
You willalsopossessexceptional communication, stakeholderengagement, and relationship-management skills, enabling you tobuild positive partnerships with staff, contractors, communitygroups, and other key stakeholders.
DesirableQualifications and Experience
The following qualifications andexperience are highly regarded:
Relevanttertiary qualifications in Sport Management, Business,Recreation Management, Facility Management, or a relatedfield.
Experienceworking within an independent school, educationalinstitution, local government, or community sportenvironment.
CurrentSISSS***** Aquatic Technical Operator qualification (or anequivalent recognised Pool Operatorqualification).
Knowledge ofaquatic operations and associated regulatoryrequirements.
CurrentFirst Aid and CPR certification.
