We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a specialist engineering team based in Wollongong.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the detailed electrical, instrumentation and control design of specialised HVAC systems.
You will work closely with the Technical Manager and primary electrical designer, gaining involvement across the full project lifecycle from initial specifications and design through to programming, testing and commissioning.
This is a hands‐on, design-focused role offering broad technical exposure, ongoing development and the prospect to take end‐to‐end ownership of projects.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing project electrical and instrumentation specifications
Designing HVAC control systems, including associated electrical enclosures and cabling
Producing electrical schematics, enclosure layouts and equipment schedules
Preparing bills of materials and supporting project documentation
Developing control philosophies
Programming and configuring PLC and HMI systems
Supporting installation, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning
Working closely with engineering, design and project teams
Assisting with the delivery of projects within technical, commercial and scheduling requirements
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
A degree or advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering
At least 2 years of electrical design experience
Practical experience using 2D AutoCAD
PLC programming experience




Strong analytical and technical problem‐solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and project requirements
The ability to work full‐time, on‐site in Wollongong
This role may suit an experienced Electrical Engineer seeking greater project ownership, or an engineer with a few years of experience looking to broaden their technical capabilities within a supportive team.
Highly regarded
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous but is not essential:
Industrial electrical or instrumentation design
HVAC control systems
HMI programming
Electrical commissioning
Oil, gas or petrochemical environments
Hazardous‐area equipment and Gas Group II explosive atmospheres
Training and development can be provided across the company's specialist systems and industry requirements.
